The world-wide Body of Christ known as Christianity need to know - TopicsExpress

The world-wide Body of Christ known as Christianity need to know that History is repeating itself before our eyes. If we are ignorant of History or refuse to acknowledge the reality of History, we do so to our own perils. The peril is the brutal truth of the current surge of worldwide Islamic insurgency and warfare. It is not going away but a cautiously cyclical phenomenon. From the founding of Islam almost 600 years after the birth of Christianity (according to most of our standard tests - which I so much doubt as I argued later in this text) to the overwhelmingly brutal expansion during the two great expansionary periods of Islam (the 7th and 8th centuries and the 11th and 12th centuries), it should be clear to all that this is the same long strand of struggles, warfare, pogrom, genocide, holocaust, reverse-crusades and untold mayhem in the name of religion and Allah. Beginning with the fall of Constantinople to Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II the Conqueror, on Tuesday, 29 May, 1453 effectively ended Byzantium, we must be clear that Islam means business to be the only religion on earth. (This is why Greeks ever since traditionally will not embark on new business ventures, or anything else with risk, on a Tuesday.) Please take note of these: First Ottoman siege of Vienna lifted 14 October, 1529. In the Battle of Lepanto, 7 October, 1571, the expansion of the Ottoman empire into the western Mediterranean was checked when an Ottoman fleet, consisting of 230 galleys and 56 galliots under Turkish admiral Ali Pasha, was halted in Greek waters by the fleet of the Holy League (Spain, Venice, Holy See, Genoa, Savoy, and Malta). This fleets 206 galleys and 6 gallasses, under the command of Don John of Austria, delivered a smashing defeat to the Turks. Second Ottoman siege of Vienna lifted 11 September, 1683, by a joint force of Polish, Austrian, and German troops under the command of King Jan III Sobieski, of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Bill Warner at politicalislam has an eye-popping PowerPoint time lapse display of all the reported slave raids and other attacks by Saracen forces against Mediterranean Europe. When you consider the slave caravans of Africa, the massive campaigns in India, the Islamification of Indonesia, the Sallee Rovers, etc., it really was continuous, at least in the sense that there was Islamic violence somewhere in the world in each generation from the founding, even if it was not necessarily continuous in any particular spot. For example: the two great expansionary periods of Islam (the 7th and 8th centuries and the 11th and 12th centuries). It is surprisingly difficult to reason about what went on in the 7th, 8th, and 9th centuries. Apparently the archaeological evidence, newly discovered documents, and reanalysis of previously known documents, together cast extreme doubt on the reliability of the traditional historical account of that era. None of the standard histories of western Eurasia and North Africa for the 7th, 8th, and 9th centuries are based directly on histories written during those years. Every standard history today of that era is based on sources that were written in the 10th, 11th, or 12th century, and were themselves based on earlier sources that have subsequently been lost. (The same pattern is true for all religious books and documents of early Islam, including both the Quran and the Sira, the authorized biography of Muhammad.) Please note that from the end of the 12th Century that is AD 1399 or rather from the on set of AD 1400 till 2000 AD is another 600 years. I would argue that the rise of the current wave of militant Islam took off from AD 2000. So by AD 2011 it blossomed into the current on-going crisis as seen from Iran to Iraq to Afghanistan and to other Islamic and non-Islamic regions of the world. The thoroughness with which all of the original histories from Byzantine, Western European, Arab, and Persian civilizations have been scrubbed from the record, unique to those 3 centuries, suggests something very special about that era. And I will dare say that for the next 3 centuries we are in for another phase of struggle with Islam. But notice how we are playing down on the current history as to be politically correct and so in the same vein it will be scrubbed from hsotorical record too. In the case of the rare historical records, such as the medieval Hungarian chronicles, that have come to us without ever passing through Western European, Byzantine, Arab, or Persian hands, the history they tell of that era is completely different from what our standard books say. Recent archaeological findings apparently show that the stories written in our standard texts cannot be correct. As Robert Spencer discusses in Did Mohammad Exist?, there are grounds for believing that Islam did not come into being until after the Caliphate was established. If Islam did exist as early as the 7th century, it was then nothing like it is now. Recently discovered problems with the timeline are why I now say over 1,000 years of Islamic violence, rather than 1,400 years as does almost everybody else here. If you go back in the textbooks of medieval history much further than 1000 AD, things start to get murky. Likewise, if you go forward in the textbooks of ancient history past the early phases of the Last Great War of Antiquity, circa 610 AD. >Once Islam established its rule, things were probably no worse for adherents of non-conforming religions than than they were in Christiandom. Consider the collection of European boys over hundreds of years to form the Janissary corps. Consider the way in which African boys had their genitalia entirely severed within minutes of being captured by Arabs, so that they would be too weak to fight back or run away on the long caravan voyage from their homeland to the slave markets of the Islamic heartland. Only 10%, at most, survived that journey. Consider Emmet Scotts argument that the first pogroms against the Jews to take place on European soil occurred in Spain under Islamic rule, and that the Crusaders learned anti-Jewish violence in Spain from their Mohammedan enemies. This happened as part of an Islamic propaganda campaign to separate the two conquered peoples, Spanish Christians and Spanish Jews, who together formed a large majority, and who could have expelled the invaders if they had united. Consider the way in which the Church cracked down violently on all forms of dissent and nonconformity whenever Islamic forces threatened militarily. This was done to suppress any possible fifth columnists, who might have assisted the Saracen enemy. God will have mercy on the Church of Christ Jesus and on His Kingdom here on Earth. Let be adamant, brave and confident in our God.
