The worse thing I can imagine is a sick or injured person without health insurance going into a physicians office or a hospital seeking treatment for themself or their children. Imagine yourself in their shoes. Before hospitals were an MBA administrated profit center with six-figure administrator salaries, people received treatment whether or not they had insurance. The community picked up the tab. Thats not the case today. Ear infections, the flu, broken ankles and arms, kidney and bladder infections, eye injuries, etc are common every-day happening for families with children. Today health care is rigged to deliver profits and cash-flow to insurance companies, hospitals, physicians and pharmaceutical companies and last to deliver health care for the sick or injured customer. We seem to have a high percentage of people who are born with problem conditions that insurance companies dont want to cover. We have many people who lack the income to pay high insurance premiums. Many people take no responsibility for themselves or their families and make poor choices to either not buy insurance coverage or to purchase insurance that lacks sufficient coverage to meet their needs. The affordable health care act is an attempt to fill-in-the gaps in damaged cerebral cortex processing, ignorance, irresponsibility, bad luck, indifference, greed, and more. I have great hopes the law will be successful, will meet the needs of many, will make our nation and our economy stronger. I am sad we passed over a simple single-pay system; but there are many good provisions that will meet the needs of our friends and neighbors. I hope reason and truth prevail.
