The worst crash Ive ever seen in person was when Memo Gidley hit the Billy Mitchell bridge at Road America in 2001. I was standing right there and can still feel the concussion from this hit and remember the car barrel rolling and the corner workers at the bridge falling over backwards. My dad told me about Ronnie Duman being killed right in front of him at Milwaukee in 1968 and I was sure Id seen a fatal accident. I felt pretty sick for the rest of the day until I found out he was going to be ok. Thank God for carbon fiber tubs.
