The worst drivers of any state in the nation are found in Louisiana, based on this years poll by carinsurancecomparison. Using statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the National Motorists Association and Mothers Against Drunk Driving, among others, Louisiana managed to finish in the Top 5 for three different categories: Failure to Obey, Ticketing Rate and Careless Driving. The other two categories in which Louisiana managed not to rate highly in were Fatalities Rate per 100 Million Vehicle Miles Traveled and Drunk Driving. South Carolina, Mississippi, Texas and Alabama rounded out the Top 5 list of the worst drivers in the U.S. On the flip side, Vermont achieved the distinction of having the nations best drivers, followed by Utah, New Hampshire, Minnesota and Oregon.
