The year 2011 saw a lot of natural disasters around the world. From earthquakes and tsunamis, to fish kill and bird kill, to diseases and outbreaks, to typhoons and volcanic eruptions, wildfires, tornadoes and floods, it seems that the planet earth is heading to its end. Sometimes, people are not yet over with one disaster when another is ready to strike again. For people around the world, the worst natural disasters of the year were the Sendai, Japan earthquake and tsunami with a magnitude of 8.9. This mega thrust earthquake created a tsunami that reached up to 10 meters. This is now called the Great East Japan Earthquake which caused not only loss of lives and infrastructure, but the tsunami also caused a number of nuclear accidents which affected hundreds of thousands of residents. As this year ends, people must brave themselves for the disasters to come next year. The best way to do this is to implement preventive measures and be prepared always for any eventuality.
