The year is 2014. You are at work, in a customer Service role. You receive an email from Delivery Service, its titled with your name and that you got a parcel. Upon clicking on the email you can see that it was a missed parcel and the email is informing you that you missed it. You then proceed to follow the instructions on the email to download your information. The email opens a web page, Australian Post, you are then prompted to enter a code to download a file to receive your parcel information. You proceed to download the file which is titled Auspost.zip, you then open the file to retrieve your information, you double click on auspost.exe. Nothing happens. You dont know why, so you call Australian post to try find out more information about your parcel. Meanwhile..... The IT department start receiving phone calls with a influx of users unable to open some files. Files in the customer service department have all become encrypted, scrambling they try and find out what has caused this as its looking like a Ransom Virus. IT department isolate which user activated the virus, a women in Customer Service. The IT department try to call the women in question but she is currently on the phone with Aus Post trying to find out why she cant see information about her parcel. Unable to reach her the IT department remote into the womens computer to see what she has open. She is currently on the webpage trying to download the file a second time as the first time didnt work out. The IT department fight for control over the PC to close all running programs and shut down the computer immediately. IT enter damage control as every share folder this staff member has write access to has become encrypted. The IT manager proceeds to walk over to customer service with a baseball bat to teach someone a lesson.
