The year was 1968. I stepped outside of my 7th Ave Neptune home - TopicsExpress

The year was 1968. I stepped outside of my 7th Ave Neptune home that Christmas night and looked up at the winter sky. The year was the worst the nation had seen since World War 2, at least. Cities burning to the ground. Our young people being slaughtered in front of our eyes in Viet Nam at dinnertime on the news . The Kennedys and ML King murdered. Peace and civil right and union protesters everywhere. For the first time in my short life I wondered if the world was going to make it through it all. But it did. And music was right there to help. Come on people, smile on your brother..., Anybody here seen my old friend Martin?, Id like to teach the world to sing... Simon and Garfunkel summed it up great in this piece. Merry Christmas, and happy holidays to you all- and may we finally see real peace in our lifetimes, however long or short they may be.
