The year was 1972, it was a hot summers early evening and Leee Black Childers had two assignments that weekend one was for the Melody Maker (1970s English music papper) and the other was for the Rolling Stones magazine. The assiment for the Melody Maker was to go and take photos of The New York Dolls at their loft at 119 Christie St. between Grand and Broome ,thats right New York City... Leee came in with Roy Hollingsworth who wrote the article for Melody Maker. Leee was a natural, in capturing and making you feel so comfortable that you could be yourself and with five guys from New York trying to figure out who they are, what theyre look n for. Leee, wkew what was going on he was a perfict human being all around one of the sweetest persons that Ive ever met in show business/rock n roll in the 70s especially early on in New York City where sometimes life wasnt so pretty but people like Leee made it easier to find your way. Those pictures by the way, made us superstars overnight in England. They were placed in the centerfold of the Melody Maker one of Englands at the time the biggest music newspaper and of course it was ground zero for that sound, life style that movement that would later be called PUNK MUSIC... Thank you so much Leee Black Childers God bless you LUV rock n roll live for ever... OH, by the way, the other group that Leee was hired to do that weekend was the Rolling Stones at Madison Square Garden oh yeah baby totally tits.... Sylvain Sylvain Mizrahi
