TheDC and The Voice of Sikkim Effect On Jan 9, 2014 the official page of Delhi Police For North East Folks had uploaded an outdated image of the North East region as their profile picture, which did not contain Sikkim in the Map of NE, to which TheDC and our partner organization The Voice of Sikkim had raised objection. We are glad to report that today, here at TheDC we received an email apologizing for the wrong Map and also an updated version of the NE map. Please note that the DPNEF initiative has kindly included the Gorkhalis, Kamtapuris and other non-Indian faces from Darjeeling and Dooars region in their initiative to protect against racism in Delhi, because of which the newly uploaded NE Map has included the Darjeeling and Dooars region as one area - Darjeeling (for the ease of representation). We thank Jt. Commissioner Shri. Robin Hibu ji for the move, and also for including the people from Darjeeling and Dooars in the noble initiative. We are hopeful that someday soon the Government of India will follow suit and include the entire Darjeeling and Dooars region in the North East Council.
