Thefts from motor vehicles are continuing throughout town during the overnight hours. Incidents have occurred on Livingston Drive, Blue Hills Road, Ridgewood Ave and Highland Park Road. On 7/25/2014 at approx... 5:00 a.m., a residence reported seeing two males subjects dressed in black clothing, both about 6’ tall with slim builds, one was carrying a backpack in the Ridgewood Ave area, when a car alarm went off. The subjects were last seen running from Ridgewood toward Glen Parkway to Whitney Avenue in Hamden. The majority of these types of thefts are occurring during the overnight hours and the perpetrators are targeting unlocked vehicles. We are encouraging residents to lock their vehicles and recommend the use of exterior motion lights. Please report any suspicious activity by calling 203-239-1618. Patrol efforts are ongoing and we are trying to develop suspects.
