Their goal is to shrink government, cut environmental regulations, and reduce taxes on the wealthy – thereby making themselves even wealthier and more powerful. Their political front, Americans for Prosperity, has already spent more than $30 million on the 2014 midterms, up to 10 times as much as any major outside Democratic group, according to the New York Times. They’re building their own permanent political machine, including more than 200 full-time paid staff in 32 states.
