Their manhood ... their cool factor ... their clubability and eligibility ... at least among a certain crowd. But that crowd is not THE crowd, and to the rest of us ... well, Im not an environmental activist, but I do care about the world, about nature. I mean, as a parent it is kinda my *moral obligation* to care about such things ... things beyond ego-strokes, personal gratification, and really, the entire world of things that exist beyond the tip of my own nose. I think its entirely pathetic for a person who doesnt have to haul around hundreds of pounds or tools and/or equipment to drive these things; at least as their go-to-vehicle. They guzzle gas and consume precious resources, and pollute the environment. If one doesnt NEED such a big vehicle, how does it make ANY sense to own one??? To pay more money at the pump? To pay off the bigger loan? To give oil companies every reason in the world to go on doing things as cheaply and economically as possible; while you, no doubt, shake your finger at big oil like YOU are not the one making what they do possible? I dont see manly or cool when I see these people. I see people who simply care more about their image, what I like, than they do about anything else ... including their own offspring. Uncool.
