Thelma Duplantis Parker, 81, a native of Napoleonville, Long time employee of MPH and resident of Houma, died Sunday, March 9, 2014. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Williams and Southall Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at New Zion Baptist Church in Houma. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in Wesley United Methodist Church Cemetery in Napoleonville. She is survived by her sons, Edward (Gertrude), Alvin (Regina), Spencer (Pamela), and Rodney (Enell) Parker; daughters, Pauline Juanita Parker, Kathleen (Stacey) Jones, Sheryl (Carl) Richardson, and Jacquelyn (Gary) Williams Sr.; sister, Sarah Bergeron; brother, Edward Duplantis; 34 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Edwin Parker; parents, Juanita and Willie Duplantis Jr.; brothers, Everett, Wilton, and James Duplantis; and sister, Eula Mae Guilfo. Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville is in charge of arrangements.
