Theme: What happens in dreams of the night? Text: Job 33:14 – 16 Since there is a spiritual side to this physical world, dreams are a connection to the world beyond the physical i.e. the spirit realm. Job 33:14 – 16 gives a deep explanation about dreams “For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction.” From the scripture, it is clear that God is always speaking to men but men cannot discern God is talking probably because they are too busy to hear him. For this reason, God waits until very deep sleep falls upon men before he communicates with them. Some Reasons why we dream • It is the best and probably most effective avenue that God can use to communicate with men. • To receive divine instructions. Acts 18:8 -11 • To reveal great mysteries. Daniel 2:19 • To warn us of coming danger. Matthew 2:12 • To link us with the spirit realm. Anyone whose dream life is not active has probably been disconnected from the spiritual aspect of life and is having faulty spiritual communications. Dreams can generally be classified into two, good dreams and bad dreams. What is a bad dream? A dream that we call a bad dream usually comes from Satan and the forces of darkness. Examples of bad dreams include dreams of death, dreams of loosing something valuable (wedding ring, house, car, money), dreams of being robbed, dreams of shedding tears, dreams of being in prison etc. After having a bad dream, the listed may manifest: • Fear • Confusion • Anxiety • Worry • Loss of peace • Afflictions • Powerlessness • Strange Problems • Troubles How to cancel the effect of bad dreams Job 5:12 reminds believers that, “He frustrates the plans of schemers so the work of their hands will not succeed” which means God has the power to frustrate plans that are contrary to his will for his children. The power to frustrate bad dreams from coming to pass can be obtained through the listed spiritual techniques. • Applying the blood of Jesus. • Destroying the source of the dream with the fire of God. • Bombarding the power base of the dream with the thunder and lightning of God. • Disarming the powers and personalities behind such dreams. • Shattering the elements used to bring such dreams into your dream life. • Calling on the power of God to bury the dream so it doesn’t re-occur. • Adopting faith and believing you have conquered. • Living a holy life which is the guaranteed spiritual immunity against Satan and his dark forces. What is a good dream? Good dreams come from the throne of God in heaven and examples of good dreams are dreams of elevation, dreams of abundance, dreams of victory, dreams of angelic visitations etc. After having a good dream, the dreamer will usually experience the following: • Renewed hope • Thanksgiving • Joy • Firm faith • Peace • Expectation • Excitement How to bring good dreams to pass It’s not enough to dream good dreams; you must learn how to bring them to pass with the instrument of prayer. Prayer serves as the force that pulls good dreams from heaven to earth while faith releases it into the hands of the expectant believer. God does not give his children good dreams so they can talk about it, he gives them good dreams so they can receive its content. The prayers below can help put an end to bad dreams and assist in your good dreams coming to pass. • Power to live a consistent Holy life, overshadow me in Jesus name. • Blood of Jesus, purge my dream life in Jesus name. • Dark visitations of the night, expire in my dream life in Jesus name. • Everything I have lost through dreams, power of restoration bring them back to me in Jesus name. • The power base of my bad dreams, I bombard you with the thunder and lightning of God in Jesus name. • The instruments of darkness released against me in my dreams, be shattered by the rock of ages in Jesus name. • Every bad dream I have had, be buried by the blood of Jesus in Jesus name. • I claim every blessing and opportunity I had in my dreams in Jesus name. • Divine joy from above, come forth and locate me in Jesus name. • Every pollution in my dream, I purge you with the blood of Jesus in Jesus name. • Every good thing in my dream, come to pass in Jesus name. • My season of laughter shall not pass me by in Jesus name.
