Theme of the week 12th-18th January: Continuing from last week we will be working strongly with the core as well as the shoulder girdle creating space as well as stability as we look at Sirsasana, headstand. The breath will be the focus of this class as we use the inhales to create length and space in the body (prana) while using the exhales to ground down and connect with the floor (apana). Finding the balance between these two places and maintaing the connection with the breath is really important with inversions especially when looking at transitions. Options will be given so if you are new to this and have never been upside down dont be worried there will be something for all levels. Have fun and see you on the mat! The transition in the video is from Padmasana, Lotus into Urdhva Kukkutasana from the Ashtanga Fourth Series into Tripod headstand with the falling like a tree exit to Vinyasa sped up 2x.
