Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan - TopicsExpress

Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where for forty days he endured temptations from the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when they were completed, he was famished. The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” [Luke 4:1-3, NET Bible] Have you ever noticed how much the Bible speaks of desert experiences. And yet, despite how many times God speaks of such thing, warning us, preparing us, most of us are shocked and dismayed when something similar happens to us. It is in these desert experiences, when we think Hes far away, that we are so vulnerable to Satans attacks and yet, even in these times, when we dont feel His presence, we still have His Word to guide and counsel us. We would certainly prefer not to have such experiences, but when we do, we need to recall everything God has taught us about them and remember that He is still right there with us even if we cant feel Him.
