“Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward...” (1 Samuel 16: 13). That Is the Focal Scripture of Streams Of Joy Devotional today. David was not available when Samuel came to anoint a new King, but his brothers were available; but notice that everyone waited until David came and took the position that God reserved for him; though his brothers were available to take his position, they couldnt take it. David’s new position was reserved for him. Beloved, hear God’s word of grace to you: everything that is yours has been reserved for you; no man will take your place or steal your position in destiny; no one will occupy your God-given position; no one will take any opportunity God destined for you; no one will replace you in your absence; when men run ahead of you, God will stop them from taking what is yours. Eliab was taller than David, but even when Samuel endorsed him, God reserved the Kingship for David. God says, even if they are more qualified than you, or they came before you, or you came late, they can’t take your place. Your place is in God’s hands, and He won’t give it to another man. The mere fact that David was initially absent did not cause God to pass on the Kingship of Israel to one of David’s rivals. God says, even if you are absent or unaware, your position and possessions have been reserved for you. Focus on God and forget those who are hustling to take your place in destiny. If God is on your side, He will reserve what is destined for you; and no matter who runs ahead of you, your position and possessions remain secured in God’s hands. Psalm 16 vs. 5 captures it this way: “The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.” Pray With Me: Lord, no one will take my positions and possessions; my place in destiny is secured in Your hands, in Jesus’ name!
