Then the woman went to all the people with her wise advice, and they cut off the head of Sheba son of Bikri and threw it to Joab. So he sounded the trumpet, and his men dispersed from the city, each returning to his home. And Joab went back to the king in Jerusalem. II Samuel 20:22 FOLLOW.THROUGH! ALWAYS.KEEP.YOUR.WORD! DO.NOT.FAIL.TO.DO.WHAT.YOU.SAY! Two people - - - one a leader of his people and the other a wise woman without specific leadership responsibilities - - - had made a deal to avert further loss of life to innocent people with their words . . . but now it was necessary to FOLLOW THROUGH WITH ACTION! This wise woman shared the content of the conversation she and Joab had with the people barricaded inside and they IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH ACTION! Joab and his men kept their word and likewise FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH ACTION! (some would call it response, but it was an action!) We must do what we can to KEEP THE PEACE in our relationships with other people! We must also do what we can to MAKE PEACE in relationships with other people when they have been damaged! The reality is that we will not be required to deliver someones head in order to resolve damaged relationships about 99.99% of the time! However, we must be sensitive in every relationship with other people! WALK THE TALK! PEOPLE ARE WATCHING! YOUR WORD IS YOUR BOND!
