Theo update for our many friends who have been caring & praying for us the past three months: its been just over 3 weeks since Theo came home from intensive care in Syracuse. He has been eating and pooping like a champ. We are so grateful for the many answers to prayer! However, his skin and eyes have been very yellow due to jaundice (thus his nickname “lemonhead”). He has also struggled to gain weight beyond his 7lbs 4oz discharge weight. This week he finally began gaining and yesterday hit 7lbs 13oz. He was seen by a specialist yesterday for his jaundice, and we began a round of tests to determine the cause. Thankfully he has direct jaundice, which cannot be cured with UV lights, but does not cause brain damage. We should have some results from yesterday’s tests and ultrasound later next week. Last night he did his first full-night stretch of sleep, and woke up a different man, like Rip Van Winkle. Today he has been unusually alert...smiling at us and giving us the bottom lip when hes sad. He seems to have grown months older in his sleep! His Creator didn’t make any mistakes when he sewed Theo together. He’s a little fighter, and we are blessed to have him in our lives.
