Theory of consciousness, as proclaimed by Sartre, is the state in which, inevitably we as humans are unable to bridge the gap between the purity and spontaneity of thought and the all-too constraining action; between the being and the nothingness that inherently coincide in our self. The inner turmoil we are subject to resides within our subconscious, all the while presently knowing that our conscious must take the lead.
