There. For the first time since I completed my history degree, Ive been paid to tell history. Yes - I KNOW it is what I was doing before, but this time I had no harp or spinning wheel to hide behind. I felt disconcertingly naked, only armed with the spoken word and my research. Today was a first time run of the material (x3 sessions), so there are obvious places to polish and improve on, but I think it might just have gone - well, WELL. The room was packed even though people could have been other places, and there were a few tissues evident (I nearly lost it myself when the band outside started playing Abide With Me as I was closing). I finished (at least on the last two sessions) at 30 minutes almost precisely, a marvelous thing. And to think - I finished writing at 12:30 a.m.....
