There I was, standing outside my mothers cow dung patched - TopicsExpress

There I was, standing outside my mothers cow dung patched house, armed with my Iron Box stuffed with all my earthly belongings, my hair attempting to flow freely with the wind-it failed despite having blow dried with a hot comb and applying milking jelly, I faced the mountain and laughed, I laughed to spite the mountain for having forgotten me-It was meant to find me a young handsome man to marry but had not! Instead it stood there majestic and proud, watching my skin wither, watching my once, pencil sharp pointed breast head south, watching my child bearing hips flirt dangerously with age... I turned back on the mountain and swayed my buttocks mockingly, the mountain had not won! I had found a man-A real one, with lungs, kidney and a heart to boot, and he had threatened to embarrass my fathers clan by herding a dozen cattle into my mothers homestead, in fact he had promised to feed my village with rice and cabbage, drowning them with Fanta and coke-just to prove that he was a man worth my hand, but I could not wait, my skin was about to betray my fading youth, I had to strike before he realized that my hips had been purchased at River Road Opposite Tea Room, so there I was, standing outside my mothers cow dung patched house armed with my Iron Box stuffed with all my earthly belongings, ready to elope to Busia, to Okanda Leonard , home town
