There are 20 photos here of the historic 1892 Carrington Carr house in Charleston, South Carolina This outstanding Queen Anne style house was built in 1892 for King Street jeweler Waring P. Carrington and his bride, Martha, a daughter of George W. Williams, the wealthy banker who lived at 16 Meeting St. Tradition says Williams placed $75,000 on a satin pillow as a wedding present and the Carringtons built this house with the money. Two Tiffany windows were purchased in 1895 to celebrate the couple’s 5th wedding anniversary. In 1946, the house was purchased by Minnie Spell Carr, an aunt of the current owners, who established a guesthouse. The guesthouse eventually became Two Meeting Street Inn and is now owned by Mrs. Carr’s youngest nephew, Pete Spell, al;ong with his wife and two daughters.
