There are a LOT of things that bother me about our government and the things that we as a society choose to accept. I will go ahead and share with you all some of the questions I have been contemplating over the past several months. The answers (or lack thereof) have heavily influenced my perspective on today’s politics. I apologize in advance if these questions might seem unreasonable. . . • What ever happened to an individual’s right to self-ownership and self-determination? • Since when did we stop holding our government accountable for their actions? • Since when did we allow significant portions of our property to be dictated by the whims of others? • Why do we still hold onto this illusion that we are a free country when we don’t even own the fruits of our labor?! I’ll tell you what I personally believe. I believe that the 16th Amendment to our constitution marked the beginning of the end of individual Liberty in this nation. Why do we continue to accept such heavy taxation and regulation as a “necessary evil”? Our government can’t even come up with a balanced budget! And yet we allow them to take possession and management of significant portions our resources?! Our government has spiraled completely out of control and we have no one to blame but ourselves. We allowed it to happen and I have no doubt that a majority of our nation would fight to allow it to continue. I have taken it upon myself to try to make people receptive to the message of self-ownership and self-determination. Only then will we be ready to restore true Liberty to our nation.
