There are a few days in history, where people remember where they were. Today in 1980 was one of those days. I was working at Gemco in the variety department, nearing closing time, and I heard the news from Monday Night Football that John Lennon had been shot. As a Beatle fan since I was 3, I was in shock. Double Fantasy had just come out and Lennon was back with new music, the hopes of a Beatle reunion were lifted again, but it was never to be. The world, and my generation in particular, lost one of our greatest voices. John Lennon is missed and will never be forgotten. I just sang this song with my band Friday night and it is one of my favorites. John did a great cover of this song, raw and powerful.
