There are a lot of movies coming out this weekend so without further ado, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: SECRET OF THE MUSEUM: The third film of the series finds returning stars Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, Rami Malek, and the late Robin Williams joined by newcomers Dan Stevens, Sir Ben Kingsley, Ricky Gervais and Rebel Wilson to find a way to save the museum pieces from a magic that is quickly fading. The series, which began in 2006, has been quite successful with both previous films being financial successes. Shawn Levy returned to the director’s chair and it sounds as if he could use a change of pace after his ambitious, but dramatically listless film This is Where I Leave You. It’s also the holidays and Fox is going for the family market with this film, and it’s up against Sony’s Annie remake to see which will be the biggest family opener. My money is on this movie because it’s a known series for kids and Annie isn’t. Critics have had a lukewarm reaction to the film but then again they did for the other two films as well, and that didn’t hurt their box office.
