There are a lot of ways this can go, and the court has not sent any clear signals about its intentions. Obviously Antonin Scalia and Clarence What He Said Thomas will vote that corporations have a right to use religion as a blunt object with which to beat their employees. But Roberts is feeling the pressure to not be the dickhead who goes down in history as the primary force of darkness that drove America into a Third World Nation where 12 wealthy white men own 300 million slaves on a very large plantation.
