There are a lot of you law abiding citizens out there that will never need my service and Im not mad at ya for that. What I am mad about is the fact that you are allowing your taxes to pay for pre trial services when it could be used for something more useful, like education for instance. People who get arrested,, their family members pay for our service not you, the law abiding tax payer with small children in the public school system that could use some additional funds our other programs for our local communities. When pre trial fails and the defendant fails to appear in court, who do you think looks for the fugitives? The over worked, under paid police department. They arrest them, you release them, then you want them to go find them again..dont they have new cases to worry about? Crime happens on the daily, it doesnt stop people. So here it is: Pre trial everyone pays for this service, law abiding or not through our taxes. Fugitives are apprehended by the local police department. Defendants on pre trial report every week until their case is exonerated. Failure to do so may result in additional criminal charges..we pay for this.. Bail Bond Service is paid for by the defendants loved one whom chooses to be responsible financially for defendant to appear in court. If defendant fails to appear in court not only do you have the police department searching for the fugitives but the bail bond agent will also be hunting for the fugitive at the expense of the person who bonded the defendant.. Its a no brainer people...stop wasting our taxes on programs that have an unsuccessful record. Its only a matter of time before bail will be a thing of the past in Virginia..theyre already releasing drunk drivers on pr bonds, felonies and recently I witnessed second degree murder on unsecured bond..When its not broke you dont fix it! Get pre trial out of our state and stop wasting our money! Ok rant over
