There are about a half-dozen locations that I visit roughly a dozen times each year. I have been doing this on and off for about a 20 years but consistently for about 10. Of all of those places, I still do not know any of them intimately. I know them all well but none of them intimately. There is so much to be gleaned in one square acre of wilderness that I am unsure if we can ever truly know any back country location intimately. I know most sites better than most, but there is still a lot to learn and experience. Tomorrow, I will add a new locale to my repertoire--The Panthertown Valley. It is a 6,700 acre tract of high-elevation forest that possesses high hanging rocks and a plethora of waterfalls--at least 8 major ones! I will be accompanied by some fellow hikers that I have the utmost respect and confidence in. Our adventure will be an overnighter, and we hope to take in a dozen or more new waterfalls by the conclusion of our adventure. Ill head out some time shortly after 6 a.m. in the morning and will not return til late Sunday night. I think the sky is the limit for this adventure. I hope to capture 1,000 images or more and cultivate some great inspiration for future writing. At the very least, it will be a weekend spent with like minded friends and an opportunity to meet at least one fresh face. Time is of the essence and I must pack! Ooo-Rah! I will post during our stay where cell service is available!
