There are businesses on the Internet who are NOT to be trusted, whose level of competence is suspect. Hotwire has been a very negative experience for me. On June 26, 2013, my wife logged on to your site. We needed a hotel room for the night in New York. She proceeded with the booking. After waiting nearly 20 minutes for the process to complete, we assumed that the transaction did not go through. Since we were using a debit card to pay, we thought that the transaction did not complete because of this, since we were advised that debit card transactions did not always complete. We then proceeded to book and pre-pay for another room at another site, assuming that this transaction did not go through. Only upon checking my bank balance the next day did I discover that this transaction did complete. I immediately called to cancel this, only to discover that this was a non-refundable transaction. I respectfully request that you refund my money. We were misled by by your confusing and inefficient website. Under no circumstances will I ever use your service, or any other internet-based travel booking site again. I expect a response within 48 hours. I will complain to the State of California, unless my request is granted. I will also this correspondence on my FaceBook page.
