There are certain doctrines in the Christian faith which most Christians have come to vehemently reject, to their own detriment; and that it is even biblically based is not proof enough for them - that speaks volumes regarding their spirituality, doesnt it? Like the doctrine of Tongues, their basis for the rejection of which, as they say, is its abuses by those who believe and exercise it. But they, being Christians, and rejecting biblically based teachings, ignore the advice of Martin Luther, of not supposing that abuses are eliminated by destroying the object which is abused. Men can go wrong with wine and women. Shall we prohibit and abolish women? The sun, moon, and stars have been worshipped. Shall we pluck them out of the sky?, the great German saint asked. You dont judge the relevance and authenticity of a doctrine by its abuses. Besides, the word abuse connotes existence and authenticity, and not the denial of it. For something can be abused only if it exists and is authentic. Therefore, those who stay away from certain biblical doctrines, on the ground of their abuses, have kept themselves from the benefit of using them! -Aondozungwe KK, the one whom Christ loves!
