There are certain things I never thought Id change about myself, things that I had clung to so tightly for so long that it just seemed impossible. But a year ago today, I met a girl that changed everything, without asking me to change anything. I never thought a smile could melt my heart the way hers does. Ive never wanted to settle down, or follow the american dream, but the only thing I can think when I look at her is how hard I want to work to give her every single thing she deserves. Ive never thought to myself I could grow old with you, but every time she hugs me I realize theres no way that I could see my life without them. Shes the strongest person I know, she never ever ever gives up, no matter how tired, or hurt, she just keeps going. She is beautiful, from her contagious smile to her giant heart, everything about her stands out. She is genuine, generous, but she still knows how to stand her ground. Shes independent, intelligent, and I look up to her in every way. She inspires me to try harder, to be the best version of myself, but she never pushes me or judges me when I slip. She just tells me that its not the end, and Im going to make it. She loves my daughter, and my daughter is crazy about her. She makes me laugh, and to this day, theres not a day thats gone by that I havent been grateful that I met her. I wish there were words to describe how in love with this girl I am, but there arent. Shes everything Ive ever wanted and more. And anyone whos known me for an extended amount of time knows how much Ive changed. Im finally home, and theres no turning back.
