There are days when I question why I am want to go back to school and finish my degree in art therapy... this is why. Art and music are amazing tools to help kids and anyone really, cope with stressors in their lives. Weather you are painting with the kids in bomb shelters in your apartment building (Avigayle Adler) or teaching kids a song so they are distracted long enough to find cover in an attack, you are making terrible life situations easier for the child to cope with. No child should ever have to live in fear like those in Israel or in Gaza. No parent should ever have to explain bombs and terrorism to their children who are not even old enough to read. No parent should ever have to race their children to bomb shelters in the middle of the night or pray that their kids will make it home from school. There is nothing okay with any of this. Children shouldnt ever have to live in fear. I Thank G-d for these amazing people who are able to reach within themselves, even when they are scared, and find a way to make it even a little easier for the children. My heart is in Israel with all my family and friends. May the fighting end soon and peace be restored. I pray all day for the children in both Israel and Gaza. Please take a moment out of your day and say a prayer or two for the safety of the soldiers, the children and the entire State of Israel. #istandwithisrael #iwishiwasthere
