There are many stories about child birth out there that are not great. I dont understand why we hear more of these stories than the good ones, because there are plenty of good ones out there! Feeling good about your birth story is about feeling like you were part of the decision making process. It is about feeling like the decisions you made were informed decisions. Preparing yourself throughout your pregnancy with good Birth Education is a great way to help make these informed decisions. Surrounding yourself with a great support team who can help you through those moments. Preparing yourself to ask questions like: What are the benefits? What are the risks? Are there any alternatives? What does my intuition say? And does it have to happen now? Your birth plan should not only talk about your ideal birth, but also address the what if scenarios. Because then if the birth doesnt go to the ideal part of the plan, you can still have some control over the part that didnt go to plan.
