There are more than 250 Holocaust museums worldwide. The public is continually reminded of Jewish suffering during WWII. Between 1989 and 2003 alone, more than 170 films were made about the Holocaust. Non-Jewish victims of genocide, oppression and war do not and never have merited the same consideration as do Jewish victims of the Holocaust. There are no comparable international museums to the 20 million plus Russians who died during Stalins reign of terror, nor Maos 30-60 million who died during the Cultural Revolution. The same can and should be said for the tens of millions of people from South America, and South East Asia who died in Americans wars of imperialism. Where are the museums in the US dedcated to the deaths of 100 million indigenous people or the tens of millions of African slaves ? Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has said: Jews must always remain vigilant and trust no one but ourselves....we have the duty to bequeath the lesson, memories and stories to underscore the importance of the existence of the Jewish State. The building of Holocaust Museums has become a cottage industry to take the collective mind and conscience of the world off what has happened and continues to happen to Palestinians on a daily basis in their own country.
