There are municipal elections going on in Tenali apparently. My mom was telling me that the campaigner handed over pamphlets and in between were two thousand rupees for two votes! She drove them away of course but not before they pleading her for the support for their party anyway. The domestic help meanwhile is worried that she got paid only by two parties so far and she wasnt at her home when these third party folks were knocking at our doors. I always knew there was vote buy off but limited to luring the poorer sections of the society. But trying to buy off every one this openly?? 1000rs for municipal elections? Still shocking. This is sickening. Is there hope?
