There are no absolutes - Think what you want, say what you want, - TopicsExpress

There are no absolutes - Think what you want, say what you want, do what you want. They are our own personal values what really matters, boldly, what we want. Often, only the laws of society, which offer some protection and stability, prevent some people from doing what they feel is right or desirable from their point of view, as happened once in biblical times (Judges 17: 6 , 21-25). As a result we have - and its in the Bible - Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil ...! (Isaiah 5:20). God pronounces upon them a punishment, because good and evil are defined immutably and ultimately by God, who placed this insight into the human heart. When a person goes so far in his insubordination and is no longer able to recognize the distinction between good and evil, then come the punishment and destruction. The idea that many have, then, is that one can choose their own values, it is appropriate to set the values of self based only on yourself. The message of the Bible is totally another. The Bible, the means by which God communicates with humans, talks about absolute. What is the funding source of the Bible? The Bible itself says: All Scripture is inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16); (Jeremiah 4:27) For thus saith the Lord; ... The word began to be spoken by the Lord. (Hebrews 2: 2-3) More than 370 times in the Old Testament alone, Scripture is called the Lords Word. The laws of God recorded in the Bible, talk about His nature and character. Its in the Bible, For I am the LORD, I change not. (Malachi 3: 6) Its in the Bible, Your laws are eternal. (Psalm 93: 5) Its in the Bible, Your word is truth. (John 17:17) Its in the Bible: The word of God ... lives and abides forever (1 Peter 1:23); My words will not pass away (Matthew 24:35); Faithful are all His commandments. They stand fast for ever and ever, made in truth and uprightness (Psalm 111: 7-8). Its in the Bible, the Scripture can not be broken. (John 10:35) Its in the Bible, To the law and to the testimony! If they say not according to this, is because there is no light in them. (Isaiah 8:20) Its in the Bible, So speak and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. (James 2:12, see also verses 10 and 11) Its in the Bible, God will render to every man according to his works ... there is no respect of persons with God. (Romans 2: 6.11) Its in the Bible, Rejoice, young man, in your youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth; and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring to judgment (Ecclesiastes 11: 9). These are the words of the wisest of all men, King Solomon. Enjoy life, he says. God wants us to enjoy life. Life is given for enjoyment. But that pleasure must always keep in mind that God will judge us if we have lived within the boundaries of the wise, but absolute, legislation has provided for us. There is only one source of moral and spiritual truth and unchanging authority - God and His Word. His word is as sacred as God Himself. She is our real absolute. There is no other. In other words, we can believe it or not, choose it or not, whether we desire it or not, it is an inescapable cosmic reality. This is a part of the essence of the universe such as gravity and light. It is not always easy to find in the Bible and get a solution to a particular problem. The answers do not always come quickly and without difficulty. But with patience, humility and prayer we search with all our heart for God and their answers, will eventually find what we are looking for (Jeremiah 29:13). What is important is that we take the Bible as our guide firmly authority, as well as against the many and contradictory sounding voices around us. Its in the Bible: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3: 5)
