There are not enough words to THANK the personnel of the Hines VA Medical Center Serenity Department where Carlos lived the nearly two months of his life. They really showed they care and respect the patients. After Carlos passed away, they came and prepared him to be presentable for the family rushing to the hospital to see him. After words, they asked us to wait. Two soldiers came over, got him ready to leave the room and placed a flag covering his whole body. They asked us to come out of the Family Room and someone called in the intercom to: all personnel of the unit, come to the nurse station for a Honorable Departure. everyone rushed and stood straight and while playing Taps, they brought the body parading in front of us in the most respectful way. Every employee was saluting him.
