There are numerous references to the Blood of Christ in the New - TopicsExpress

There are numerous references to the Blood of Christ in the New Testament, all testifying to its singularity as the only means by which there is forgiveness of sin and the certainty of eternal life in Heaven with Jesus. The first reference in the New Testament to His blood was spoken by Christ Himself. Jesus said, at the last supper: This is my blood of the new testament (new covenant) which is shed for many for the remission of sins (Matthew 26:28). The shedding of His Blood was the very price for your salvation and my salvation. Paul called it the purchasing blood and the redeeming blood. It is also called the justifying blood, and the peacemaking blood, and the sanctifying blood. Peter called it the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot (I Peter l:19). It is the cleansing blood, “the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin” (I John l:7). It is the washing blood, “Unto Him Who loved us, and washed us from our sins in His Own Blood” (Rev. l:5). And it is the overcoming blood, “And they overcame him (satan) by the Blood of The Lamb” (Rev. 12:11). This is the last reference in the Bible to the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. What I want each of you listening to me tonight to understand is this - His Blood Alone removes the guilt of our sins. No other way exists to get to the Father but through the Cross and the atoning Blood of His Son Jesus Christ. It is the vile deep dark blackness of all the sin of the world laid upon one man from Whom Crimson blood blossomed bright in that holy moment of the Cross. There is nothing that can be added to it. It is spotless, impeccable, and flawless. It is perfect as God is perfect. There is saving, redeeming, infinite and eternal power in the blood of Christ. It is the blood of the everlasting covenant (Heb. 13:20). God bless you, Mark Shutts To learn more about Christ and His incredible love for you, visit our website at markshuttsministries
