There are only so many baby-faced kisses and bedtime cuddles to enjoy. Theres a limited amount of early morning visits and after school greetings. Time keeps ticking-the days roll on-whether we are savoring them or dreading them. Theres no stopping time. And there are no more chances. They get one childhood. Its your choice whether you enjoy it or endure it. If you want to stop yelling, make amends, reconnect, make it right, make it fun, make it memorable, make it beautiful, nows the time. Make it today. Make it count. This isnt meant as a guilt trip but as a wake-up call, and Im talking to myself here, too, because its easy to get stuck in a rut or make excuses and it takes a whole lot of self-control and determination to make a positive change. What would you give to look back on this time 10 or 20 years from now with a heart that doesnt sink with regrets but rejoices with the truth that you made the hard changes and you did the very best you could? We cant undo past mistakes but we can certainly make a better future for ourselves and our children. We just have to pull up our bootstraps and decide nothing will stand in our way. -RE
