There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though - TopicsExpress

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. Albert Einstein Im writing to just do a little bragging. In the past two weeks, we have watched our little man grow. I am absolutely amazed at how far he has come. Back in June, Townes and I met with his Physical Therapist to do his initial evaluation. When asked what my personal goals were for T, I began crying and said that I would just love for T to be able to sit up on his own by his first birthday. Well this little stinker has gotten strong enough to sit up on his own, and now is not satisfied unless he is up and taking it all in. Yesterday during physical therapy, he not only sat up and played unassisted for a while, he also did very well sitting on his knees and initiated movement by bouncing up and down. After talking with Ts all time favorite (and somewhat crazy) nurse during his infusion, she thought he would love getting in an excersaucer thing, and even joked how she thought we would be chasing him around dragging the vent behind him if he were in a walker. After watching how well he did in therapy, I went on and pulled out the big ole bouncy thing when I got home. That boy LOVED it! Another huge milestone for us happened this week thanks to the help and encouragement from another one of Ts favorite nurses. She has really helped push T and myself to try things Ive been too afraid to try at home. One of those: getting in the tub. That kid is going places yall, and hes going to be clean as a whistle when he gets there! While T has been showing us what true miracles are, SG has been teaching us new lessons. This weeks lesson: Real Super Heroes dont wear panties. Ive said it before and Ill say it again, I dont know where that child gets all this from. Even though shes a little crazy, I am pretty proud of her. She really enjoys school, and as a reward she was allowed back in Chick Fil A. She promised me she would not beat up any more babies, and she didnt. She did talk a super nice lady that worked there into giving her a free ice cream, and then handed it back kindly letting her know she did not do it right because it did not have a cherry on top. The lady apologized, and gave her two cherries to try and make up for the mistake. I was mortified, and had a brief thought about slowly sliding away and pretending SG wasnt my child. Speaking of being mortified, the look on my parents face when Jeremy and I walked out in our super hero onesies on Halloween was priceless. We couldnt let our kids be the only adorable heroes on Halloween. Unfortunately we werent real heroes; we wore our panties. No matter how small or mortifying they may be, enjoy the everyday miracles. Thats what we are learning to do.
