There are power outages in the entire Eastern region of Libya after the separation of electricity supply circuits of 220 kV between Tamimi area and the city of Tobruk, causing a major blackout. The Department of electricity in the city of Tobruk is currently performing an investigation to detect the location of the damage/defect and planning to connect electricity supply from Egypt to a power plant located in north Bebghazi given that electrical supply lines of 220 kV between the city of Amrawh and Al-Gwarsha area are off which is the only source for electrical supply for the eastern region that is coming from the west side country’s electrical network. The photo shows electricity supply tower that was damaged for almost five months because of ongoing violent clashes in the area, which prevented repair efforts.
