There are several checks performed on our machines before we can actually start to use them for what ever we intend the machine must do for us! Pre operation procedures are followed and after operation.(Shut down procedures) must be followed every time before and after using our machines!!! We will later go into details of what are they, but generally when you hear some thing called a walk -around inspection, we mean that we want to check/inspect, see with our own eye, the machine and in which state is it? to assess whether its ready for work or not ready to operate, You need to frequently perform a walk around inspection on your machine! Our machines are computerised. They have a fatigue monitoring system to protect it from the operator under stress, drunk, etc and it also has a set of warning symbols. These symbols mean some thing on a machine! And when you see a light and simply ignore it, that is very dangerous because you do not know what the machine was trying to communicate! In fact, to be a good operator, you need to talk the language of your machine. Knowing the symbols mean you can communicate with your machine. Not knowing them and forcing it to operate may cause serious damage to the health of your machine or total break down! So having got the skills, the learner will demonstrate full understanding of walk around inspection! What does these words mean actually; inspection? To inspect in other words it means to analyse! Or you can call it cheking! So when you do a walk around inspection, you will actually be an inspector at that same very moment. Check the body Check the cracks on the body, Check on the greese of Jointed parts. The best example can be chains! Check on the greesing of the jointed parts! Chech the tyre condition Tyre pressure Ring Rim Bolts Bolt nut,(infact that is tyre inspection)! Check the condition of your tyre! Is it good?, does it need an assistant? Any way doing tyre inspection also saves not only lives of people, it also protects the machine its self from tyre related accidents! Let us have a simple break, as we turn around!
