There are so many bodybuilding and motivational quotes floating about the ether. Many seem to have a common thread and share a hint that there is an antagonist at work wishing for our great defeat and it is our job to overcome it, him, her, or they. Apparently, popular inspirational quotes need a perceived antagonist to make it richer, to add color, and to create a story. For example, many motivational quotes begin with, They said you couldnt do it..... Or, They said I would never amount to anything.... Many of us live our lives fighting against the proverbial they. Proving to the they, that we are better than they thought we were. Some attach a face to the they. For years we train with a sense of they are rooting against us. Every rep, every session, relates somehow to they. What I am here for, and what I want to express is; when you shift your focus from they to I, your training takes on a very different tone. You become present and your training begins to harness a different energy that works for you as compared to against they. This is a much more powerful way to deploy your energy and your efforts. When I sit down with people and we get to the true grit of things, I find there isnt anyone who was truly rooting against anyone. In fact, it is to the contrary, many are rooting for you. There is no antagonist, no one is against you. Unless of course, you are your own worst they. Just something to think about. I wish you all the Peace, Health and Happiness in the World. Vic
