There are so many hurting people. And you know, the very sad thing is . . . a lot of them, according to what the Bible says, are not eligible for remarriage (at least for a time). And, given our cultures lies, that is going to be DEVASTATING for many of them to learn--even if the situation is only temporary. Hopefully we, who are single Christians, can model that God CAN be our all-in-all and that HE (not relationships--as our culture prescribes) can satisfy and fulfill us. We need to be able to demonstrate love that stands apart from romance, and is pure and true. True brotherly love. Because the western lie--that good, satisfying love is only found in romance--is untrue. We CAN have love in our lives. NONE of us is not good enough to be loved. Its Gods plan for EACH of us . . . EVERY one of us (Christians) to have love: brotherly love and the Fathers love. The covenant of marriage is a different thing entirely--not so much a means of obtaining the love we need, but of committing to a self-sacrificial lifestyle and creating a stable environment for birthing children into the world. Romantic love is part of the special glue that God gives . . . the grace glue . . . to be able to endure with another person through all the ups and downs of life. The more we stick ourselves to one person after another, the less effective that glue is when we finally have a spouse and need it. That romantic love needs to be kept for the one who we have entered into covenant with . . . not tried out on every one we have affection for. It should be as private and as guarded as our bodily parts, for that special day and season of life.
