There are some people in your life you just expect to be there forever. Sometimes, they are. But sometimes, within a few minutes, the person you imagined being at every event of your life and standing there through everything right by your side is gone. In the blink of an eye, whether they choose to leave you, or its their time to go, it can be the most devastating thing you have ever encountered. But what we dont always notice, is the people that take their place-- sometimes even before theyre gone. Sometimes that person who was there for so long and meant everything to you is gone, and suddenly, you dont feel the devastation and heartbreak anymore because there is one, two, maybe even twenty people who step in and mean just as much and more to you. I have had a lot of time to think about those people in my life. And even though it felt like the end of the world when I lost them, today it doesnt. I have lost many important people, and I always thought of how sad it was that they left me-- their decision or Gods. But now I think about the people who have stepped in and stepped up. I still think about the people who are gone, but I remember things we did together and how happy it made me. And that makes me happy. I love the people in my life: from the strangers on the street, to the people I call family and everyone in between. I dont regret a single relationship or exchange with another human being, because each and every one of them has shaped, broken, molded, and made into the young woman I am today. And that is a woman I am proud to be.
