There are still good people in this world and it is my privilege to have witnessed a selfless act of kindness today. I was on board a taxi on my way to work when the driver pulled over and beckoned the homeless man across the street from us. Like any other vagrant, he looked scruffy and unkempt. His facial expression and bearing reveal his poor mental state. His face lit up and he eagerly walked over to our side in spite of his slow gait. It seemed to me that the docility was owing to his familiarity of the one who summoned him. Manoy driver handed him a plastic bag filled with food that looked like rice, eggs, vegetables and ham from where I sat. He said that whenever he passed by that area, he always gave him whatever food he had with him. That explained how submissive the poor man was. The experience overwhelmed me! I realized that as long as there are still altruistic people in this world, there is hope for mankind. True, there are so many abusers and oppressors. There may even be those who remain cold hearted, blatantly escaping their legal obligations. There will always be all sorts of evil. However, light eventually conquers darkness. Evil will never triumph! That is the rule with which this universe is built from. Constantly. Permanently. Eternally. Happy Sunday!
