There are those who feel like they were “held back a grade” and have felt behind ever since. They feel that they are behind the rest of the pack. There is the sense that you can’t catch up to where some others are spiritually and where they are in ministry function. Sometimes it seems like someone else “got your promotion.” But the Lord is enabling you to get beyond that sense of “behindness” and you are catching up, catching up in your heart, in your considerations, in your estimations of how you see yourself and weigh yourself. You will no longer measure yourself by the successes or failures of others but your measure will be the Lord Jesus, your Example. You will catch up to what and where your Lord has for you to function for His glory. “For exaltation comes neither from the east Nor from the west nor from the south. 7 But God is the Judge: He puts down one, And exalts another.” (Ps.75:6-7, NKJV)
