There are those who feel that the America of yesteryear was actually better than it is today. The truth is that the only thing that has changed is that today, thanks to Social Media, we are becoming aware of what the US establishment is actually doing, whereas in the past, all we knew was what they told us. Take the Spanish American war for example in 1898. The pretext for that war was the explosion on the USS Maine, which they blamed on the Spanish whom they promptly defeated and ended up with amongst other places, Guantanamo bay. Also, the Panama Canal farce, where the US tried to gain control over through intimidation and regime change. (1903). (Hay/ Herran Treaty) Of course theres the Viet Nam war, the US instigated coups in Greece (1967), Chile (1973), Cyprus (1974) which led to the Turkish invasion/occupation of the Island and so many more. So really, the US was no less evil then, that it is now; but today we get to witness the truth.
