There are three important updates applied to the Speedster. First of: shots on the Speedster are now auto-timed with a built-in shot timer that starts counting when (pre-) infusion starts and stops counting when you stop extracting. Nice! For the previously built Speedsters without the shot timer we have developed a retro-fit shot timer kit that looks pretty great too! Second: Adjustable maximum load. The Speedster has a maximum load of 3100 watt (230 volt, 50 Hertz). That remains unchanged but with a clever trick it’s now very easy to decrease that maximum load to 2200 watt (230 volt, 50 Hertz) by removing a bridge on the added Solid State Relay. When the heating element in the coffee boiler (which -of course- has permanent priority) is turned on, one of two elements in the steam boiler is temporarily restricted. As every heating element is controlled by the PIDs with short pulses, there won’t be a noticeable difference during operation. It’s just a practical possibility. Last but not least: Temperature controllers. Every Speedster, previous models as well as the latest model, has a dual boiler system. The Speedster (like the Spirit) now comes with new PIDs from Stork which offer an eco-mode. When activated, the temperature drops by 50%. When deactivated the temperature rises back to 100% in no time. Another advantage: being incorporated in the newly designed front panel it looks even better than before! So, this update will save you some energy with an even better looking Speedster!
